Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-14. This service is provided on a best-effort basis. By using it, you agree to the following terms.

Section 1
Nature of the Service

This service provides: encrypted object storage (Vault), cryptographic witness receipts (Witness), and append-only metadata ledgers (Continuity).

The service does not: inspect or interpret content, manage or recover encryption keys, validate legality or meaning of data, prove authorship, or provide legal, archival, or third-party attestation assurances.

All cryptography is technical, not legal.

Section 2
Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for your encryption keys, your data, your redundancy strategy, your usage patterns, and compliance with applicable laws. Loss of keys means permanent loss of access. There is no recovery mechanism.

Section 3
Prohibited use

You may not use this service for: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorism-related content, large-scale criminal activity, attempts to evade lawful investigation, or deliberate cost or resource abuse.

Accounts may be suspended or terminated immediately if abuse is detected.

Section 4
Fair use and resource limits

This service is designed for normal personal and small-team usage. We reserve the right to rate-limit, throttle, pause, suspend, or terminate accounts to protect service stability and cost predictability. Usage is capped and subject to operational limits.

Section 5
Transfers, egress, and pass-through costs

Underlying infrastructure providers may charge for data transfer, API requests, and minimum retention violations. If your usage causes material third-party costs, we may bill pass-through costs or suspend the account.

Section 6
Retention and deletion policy

Encrypted objects are deleted according to the applicable retention window. Continuity ledgers and receipt metadata may be retained to preserve verification history, unless deletion is required by law, policy, or explicit user request.

Trial expiry deletes encrypted server-side objects immediately after expiry. Basic and High expiry includes a 30-day grace period; during grace, only object GET, object HEAD, continuity export, and account status are allowed within remaining quotas. After grace, encrypted server-side objects are deleted. Local ledgers are untouched.

Section 7
Logging and privacy

We log limited operational metadata needed for abuse prevention, cost control, operations, and lawful compliance. We do not intentionally log plaintext content, filenames, MIME types, request bodies, bearer tokens, signatures, encryption keys, or semantic meaning.

Section 8
Lawful requests

We comply with valid legal orders. We can only provide metadata we possess. We cannot provide decrypted content, encryption keys, or interpretations of data.

Section 9
Availability and liability

No commitments are made regarding uptime, availability, durability, or fitness for purpose. Use the service at your own risk. Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 10
Suspension, termination, and shutdown

We reserve the right to suspend accounts, terminate the service, or shut down entirely. If the service is discontinued, reasonable notice will be given where possible.

Section 11
Acceptance

By using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
